The Advertising course required the creation of a brand (philosophy, naming, branding, product) and one or more advertising campaigns for the brand.

Philosophy

Comedy is art

Comedy is capable of showing the world from new perspectives. We recognize in laughter a subversive, disarming, liberating power that conveys complex concepts and stimulates critical thinking. Comedy and politics have always been linked by satire, and election campaign posters, often being linked to the promotion of a person with a slogan, are adaptable to the promotion of a one-man show by parodying them and exalting the contradictions and mechanisms of propaganda, especially if the stylistic figure of the artistic direction is political comedy.

Guidelines

  • Consistent with the philosophy to stand out
    The practice of tazebao invites you to take the floor, to express yourself, even in an informal, unconventional way, and to do it publicly
  • Short to help word of mouth and memorization
    “Hey, wanna go to Tazebao?”
  • Not obvious to create community
    Tazebao were born in China as simplified versions of large-character newspapers posted for public reading, with the cultural revolution they became spontaneous posters that individuals or groups hung to express their positions and opinions, and this is later version is what tazebao means in italian.

Branding

concept

The logo is a rectangle with the proportions of DIN A, the standard sheet in Italy, in which the lines trace the naming in negative, creating dynamic letters: a sheet in which to take a word between the lines, outside the box.

Dos & Don’ts

Since the principle is freedom of creativity and expression, there are not many limits to the use of the brand, except that for the communication regarding the venue, only the color palette of yellow, black, white can be used, while for the communication of shows or other events, all the other colors can be used.

COMEDY CLUB OPENING ADS

Comedy is an art,
take the MIC

A tazebao is handwritten on a sheet of paper, it is direct, spontaneous, it speaks to the person in front of it and provokes them.

Tazebao is a taking of the floor and invites them to do the same, in some posters they will seek interaction with the passer-by by inviting them to write on the poster.

The visual identity will maintain the do-it-yourself nature of the tazebao in the use of writings but with a fixed layout to make it clear that it is part of the same campaign.

COMEDY SHOW ADS

Break the lines

Artists express themselves by breaking the lines, going outside the box.

Stand up is disruptive, energetic.

In the ad campaigns of these types of shows, the comedian’s face and name are fundamental, because they are more recognized than the title of the show.
