School exercise in emotional clustering and iconographic research (using free libraries) for a brand, real or imaginary, with the creation of visuals and captions for an Instagram post.

CONCEPT

I decided to focus on a product that doesn’t need advertising because it’s already iconic: the classic Bic lighter.
Together with the other group members, we began listing situations where lighters play a role, where they act as indispensable, invisible allies. We then organized these scenarios to tell a story about a boy—perhaps a bit of a troublemaker—and followed his life into fatherhood, with a Bic lighter always by his side.

DESIGN

For the portfolio, I reworked the images using AI Firefly and some stock photos, tweaking the copy to hint subtly at the lighter’s purpose while emphasizing the situation to evoke an emotional response.

With more time and resources, I would have made our own photo shoot to ensure greater consistency in quality, style, and the appearance of the characters. Ideally, I would also have filmed a commercial to bring these scenes to life.

The concept is expandable to include different people and experiences.
