For the editorial design course the professor provided us with a text on a brief history of graphic design, and the decision of the format and images was up to us, with the only condition that it had to be a paperback book with flaps.
CONCEPT
The history of design in your pocket
Format 11.5 x 16.5 x 2 cm (176 pages)
Pocket format for a concise history, to give it more character and make it stand out on the shelf the identity color is a scarlet red.
The characters used also retrace the history of graphics:
- Minion Pro which is based on Renaissance characters, for the paragraphs
- Neue Haas Grotesk of the Swiss Style, for the paragraphs of the insights
- Laica of the Dinamo foundry, created in 2019, for the titles
In the iconography selection I tried to favor lesser-known images, because the most famous and classic ones are easily found on the internet, instead this way you can delve deeper while maintaining the brevity of the text.
